Privacy Policy Statement

This is the web site of Equipped To Survive
The publisher can be reached via email

We believe that electronic privacy is crucial for the ongoing success of the Internet as a service, commercial and entertainment medium.

For each visitor to our Web pages, our Web server automatically recognizes only the visitor's domain name (where possible), but not the email address.

We collect only the domain name, but not the email address, of visitors to our Web site and aggregate information on what pages visitors access or visit. Our Web site logs are not personally identifiable, and we make no attempt to link them with the individuals that actually browse the site. "Cookies" are used to track this information.

The information we collect is used for internal review to improve the content of our Web site and to provide sponsors and the Equipped To Survive Foundation with aggregate information regarding traffic to the site and specific pages on the site and is then discarded. When this information is provided, no one will be able to identify you or contact you.

Any email addresses or personal information sent to us as the result of correspondence will be kept confidential and will not be used or collected for the purposes of reselling to a third party and will not be added to a bulk emailing list. We will not contact you subsequent to replying to your original email unless specifically requested. We do not retain email addresses from correspondence in any sort of list, though we may save the correspondence to an archive file for our in-house use only. This correspondence will never be made available to any third party unless specifically requested by you or as a result of a legal subpoena. If you would prefer that we delete your email address and/or personal information from an email we may archive, please indicate so in the email and we will comply. To have us de-identify or delete any emails from you that we may have archived, please send an email request to the publisher. Please be sure to include enough information so that we can find the email, including your email address and the subject and approximate date of the email if possible.

The forum software for The Survival Forum requires users who want to post messages to register. No registration is necessary to read messages. In order to register, you must provide us with a user name (which does not have to be your real name, though we encourage use of real names to encourage civil discourse; please see our Forum Rules And Courtesies), password and a valid Email address. This allows us to protect our community from abusive postings and provides a verifiable point of contact should legal questions arise. At any time, you have the ability to keep your email address hidden from other users by selecting that option within your user profile. "Cookies" are used to track your Username/Password and which posts you have read for your current session. Without accepting cookies, some forum functions won't work properly.

When you register, you have the option of providing some additional information such as occupation, interests, and home page URL. This optional information is made available to other registered forum members to foster a sense of community. If you have any concerns about providing this information, simply leave the fields blank and your registration will still be processed. At any time you can change or delete this information by clicking on the "CONTROL PANEL" link at the top of the page.

IF YOU ARE UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE you are not allowed to participate in the forum without parental permission.

If you provide personal information (e.g., address, phone number) in a posting on the fourm, that information is available to any other person having access to the forum and may be used by someone in a manner unintended by you. For that reason, we discourage you from offering any such personal information within a posting to the forum.

Cookies: The tracking and statistics software and the software used to operate The Survival Forum uses "cookies" to store and track information about you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web server and stored on your hard drive. Cookies are only read by the server that placed them there. They are unable to execute any code or virus and none of your personally identifiable information is stored on the cookies we serve. For more information on cookies, visit the Cookie Central FAQ.

NOTE: The privacy policies of Web sites linked from this site may be less restrictive than our own. Ensure the policies of these Web sites and companies are acceptable to you before providing personal information.
