His activites have resulted in major recalls of faulty survival equipment, signifcant changes to the standards that govern survival equipment and improved safety regulations. Hard to add much about that, but you should know that to get to this point where you could deduct your donation to us from your taxes, it took 290 man-hours just to fill out the required forms and provide the information required by the IRS and State of Arizona!

More gear, more reviews, more details, more information. And, we want to give you more. To do so, we need your financial support.

For nearly seven years we've been making this growing body of valuable and unique information available for free. It's taken thousands of man-hours and we've hardly scratched the surface. The Web site has grown so large it is nearly a full-time job just administering it and adding content gets harder and harder because time available it so limited. With your financial support we can spend more time working on new material and making the site easier to use; we can more easily get the assistance we need and can pay for new material from professionals with expertise, but who understandably expect to be compensated, at least modestly, for the high quality work they provide and that you deserve.

We don't have to pull punches to keep advertisers happy, you get our unvarnished and detailed opinions. We also work hard to update information to keep it current, but lack of time means we sometimes fall behind. Your support will make that much easier to accomplish.

The alternative isn't pretty

It all boils down to TANSTAAFL (There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch). For years the cost has been borne by us personally for the most part, along with those few others who have generously contributed their time and resources. This cannot continue indefinitely. We simply cannot continue to do this for free or our retirement will look awfully bleak. The alternatives are annoying banners and advertising and all that other commercial stuff that would detract from what we do. Or, possibly, the alternative is nothing--as in the Equipped To Survive™ disappears from your computer screens for lack of financial support, a sad end for such a noble effort.
